[bamboo-plantations] Success propagating B. textilis "Gracilis" by layering

Gigantis Bamboo plantation

Some time ago I asked if anyone knew how to propagate B. textilis "Gracilis" and the consensus seemed to be that it was next to impossible.
I know it is possible because I buy cutting propagated plants.
I would like to report that I have had some success from air layering and ground layering of pre-branched (i.e. very new) culms.
I waited for the sheaths to come off then wrapper the nodes with 70% perlite 30% potting mix.
I also pulled some culms down (leaving them attached) and buried them to a depth of about 10cm.
Some of them have rooted.

If anyone else has anything they can add, particularly to taking cuttings I would be very grateful.

Regards,

Matt
