[bamboo-plantations] NEW MEMBER SHARON

Gigantis Bamboo plantation

HELLO EVERYONE,
I have a great interest to learn all I can about growing Bamboo on a farm. I am looking to obtain a farm loan and have as my long term crop, Bamboo of several types. I have a BS in science and studied animal as well as plant biology. I am now a wildlife rehabilitator in the state of Florida and I beleive bamboo will add a great income for myself and my rehab (in the long term). I have studied much about bamboo, clumping and running, and type of soil (high and dry) needed to grow it here in Florida. I have also studied the markets for bamboo and always on the lookout for bamboo buyers (thought that will be years away~except for bamboo shoots).

I was in a car accident in 2004 and after 10 years of recovery I am going back to what I love. I still have issues from the accident and still on SSD but am trying to get back to what I went to college for. If I plan my own schedule I will be able to rest when I need it, even if it's only for half hour,  I know I can accomplish much.  So...with "knowledge" and some hired help I am truly confident I can run a nice diversified farm.
