Dear Ene,Have you been able to verify that you are growing the species of bamboo you paid for? You should have some idea after 3 years.
Starting with seed can be good. We are harvesting Moso shoots at the moment from seed that Wolfgang Eberts sent me in 1985. They have been a huge success, as have a number of other species I have started from seeds over the years. Recently the seedlings of Dendrocalamus sikkimensis which flowered in Australia a few years ago are developing well and uniformly. However, I don't have time to play with seeds from dealers that clearly don't have a clue.

Hi Roy
Yes I do. I bought in 2007 a batch of 120 seeds from a supplier at the Internet (Germany) and today they are over 2 meters tall in three years. This time is the period of sprouting and each clump (now 12) who are already sprawled put 60-10 new shoots with a diameter slightly smaller than an inch. Lucky? I will find the supplier link to send you.
