[bamboo-plantations] Re: new bamboo plantation

Gigantis Bamboo plantation check out http://tropicalbamboo.com/ Robert Saporito.  He has an incredible
nursery near Palm beach. Tropicals which  would provide quicker material for you
if climate right. Moso takes a good seven to eight years to get to a decent
size. But Robert can tell you all there is to tell and a few hpouhjrs in his
nursery is well worth the trip.
Tropicals produce quicker, especially as a culm has to "age" or mature for
three to four years before it can be harvested, so one is looking for 12 years
for moso harvest. Not sure on cost comparisons. For a planting of your size, one
is talking big bucks either way. For moso best best is to find a grove which
someone wants to remove,  but even then some goodly ciosts as transplanting the
stuff is a major job, not to mention the trucking.
