For sympodial (clumping) bamboos (where many are present in Asia, (especially tropical /sub0tropical regions) the problem of "controlling rhizomes spreading" is not a serious issue. For monopodial bamboos which are mainly present in the cooler regions I believe this is an issue.
Thank you.

Dear all,
Does anybody know if it is in Asia a problem to control the propagation of
the rhizomes at the border of a bamboo forest?
Does in Asia exist a traditional method to prevent that the rhizomes of a
bamboo forest spread into the adjoining farmland?
Thanks for your answers in anticipation!
Kind regards,
Raimund
