Re: [bamboo-plantations] Re: A Plantation in Ecuador

Gigantis Bamboo plantation Hi Lisa,
Please do stay in touch, I am excited to follow your adventure.  I was considering Ecuador as a possible relocation spot at one time, but then happened to land in the Philippines.  Who knows, I still might venture over there one day.  Good luck.
Richard

Richard, good for you! like me you are jumping into the fray, I am so impressed with the generosity and willingness to share that the" bamboo people" have. I have little wisdom to impart on the subject of preservation except what I have read, which is immersion, borac acid soak and smoke curing.I am going to attempt to order the book from Professor Oscar Hidalgo and attend the bamboo conference next month in San Francisco. I will let you know what I find. Good luck, I will be in touch. Lisa Lawrence

Hello Lisa,
I am attempting a similar endeavour in the Philippines. Since you have
visions of becoming a supplier, what kind of treatment methods are you
planning to use? I'm hitting some stumbling blocks on this.

Thanks,
Richard

> Hello everyone, I am currently making plans to move to Ecuador and
set up a new lifestyle. I am doing my homework on various projects and
have fallen in love with the notion of growing timber bamboo.learning
how to build with it and become a supply source for future building
materials. This is a longshot but I am deeply inspired. I will be
attending the American Bamboo Conference in San Francisco come
November, with another goal to attend the building workshop in Guatemala
in December. I am going to empty the piggybank and go for it!. If
anyone has info that might get me into even more trouble I welcome it.
Thankyou thankyou Lisa Lawrence
