Interlibrary loan. Prof. Oscar Hidalgo's book , *Bamboo, the Gift of the
Gods ? *It could well be the "Bible" for bamboosarios planning to
build houses, bridges etc. Although his English translator did not know
good Englilsh, it is very clearl and readable. It is loaded with black &
white photos and diagams with step by step instructions for building
some houses. As I recall, tha book has about 625 pages. You can order a
copy from him in English or Spanish, I think, I am sure it is rather
expensive, including the shipment from Colombia, S. Am.
