Luchy bamboo is Dracaena sanderiana of the Agavaceae family. It has extrafascicular cambium and secondary tissues in roots. Other common names are belgian evergreen, although its origin is Cameroon, green water bamboo, ribbon plant, etc. In any case lucky bamboo is unfortunate and a misleading name since it has nothing in common with true bamboos of the grass family Poaceae.
