Concerning your question about bamboo to ethanol yield, see:
Sathitsuksanoh, N., et al. Bamboo saccharification through cellulose solvent-based biomass pretreatment followed by enzymatic hydrolysis at ultra-low cellulase loadings. Bioresour. Technol. (2009), doi:10.1016/j.biortech.2009.09.081
(Available at
http://bioenergycenter.org/besc/publications/sathitsuksanoh_bamboo.pdf )
I quote from the paper cited above:
"The bamboo-to-ethanol yields were 88.1 and 83.6 gallons per ton of bamboo at 15 and 1 FPU per gram of glucan, respectively, based on 90% ethanol fermentation yields."

Can someone tell me how much bamboo biomass is required to make 1 liter of ethanol?
