The organizing institutions and their representatives are pleased to announce the 4th International Symposium on Bamboo and Guadua, a meeting at which several researchers and lecturers as well as national and international experts will gather to share their knowledge through presentations and plenary lectures on different subjects related to this important natural resource.
The symposium will be held on the 28th, 29th and 30th of September, 2016. This year the host university is the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. Conference venue: Félix Restrepo Auditorium, Carrera 7 No. 43 – 82, Bogotá, Colombia.
SUBMITTING PRESENTATIONS
Authors wishing to present their work in the 4th International Symposium on Bamboo and Guadua should send their full-length presentation to the e-mail address: trabajos@redsibguadua.org before 15 August, 2016 with the surnames of the authors and the word 'article' written on the subject of the e-mail.
Authors will be notified on the 30th August, 2016 about the acceptance of their work for oral or poster presentation. The official language for publication of the articles will be Spanish, although articles written in English will be accepted. REGISTRATION FEES
Payments should be done to a PayPal account as indicated in the web page.
1Groups of up to 5 undergraduate students: $400,000 COP ($150 USD) per group (equivalent to $80,000 COP per student) until 20th August, 2016
Groups of up to 5 undergraduate students: $600,000 COP ($225 USD) per group (equivalent to $120,000 COP per student) after 20th August, 2016
Registration fees include: attendance to all the presentations, coffee stations and proceedings of the meeting. Proceedings will contain the abstracts of all the presentations and eventually the articles that fulfil the editorial requirements according to the referees.
COMPLEMENTARY ACTIVITIES
Besides the symposium there are some academic activities scheduled. Participation in any of the activities requires prior payment of a fee, which is additional to the registration fee of the symposium.
Each activity has its own fee and a separate registration procedure.

ACTIVITY N° 3: TOUR – GIANT BAMBOO ICONS IN THE COFFEE GROWING REGION OF COLOMBIA. DATES: Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th October, 2016
