[bamboo-plantations] Re: lucky bamboo

Gigantis Bamboo plantation Please, stop writing upon "lucky bamboo", and worse of all mixing this title with bamboo propagation.
The process of adventitious roots formation consist of four stages defifferentiation coupled with the formation of a meristematic locus, cell division to form a radially symmetrical cluster of cells, further divisions coupled with organisation into a bilaterally symmetrical meristem and finally growth of cells in the basal part of the meristem which causes its protrusion through the epidermis.
Please, aspirin has nothing to do with adventitious root formation. Peaks of indol-3-acetic acid (IAA) occur soon after excision of cuttings in some species and there is some evidence suggesting that this is correlated with changes in peroxidase activity. The possible involvement of cytokinins with auxins is also possible.
Although willows (Salix) and Poplars (Populus) are well known for its easy rooting capacity, there should be scientific evidence of their high IAA production in promoting rooting of other species like conifers, broadleaved species and perennial grasses, including bamboos. Cheers to all "bambuseros", Roberto
